Similar to fashion, classic and timeless looks never go out of style. When planning your kitchen remodel, stick to the classics. Think hard about incorporating bold designs and crazy color trends. You don’t want to spend money doing another kitchen remodel 5 years from now.  By choosing classic elements throughout your kitchen, you will save money and time. Although color can be fun, leave it for another room in the house. Here are some timeless kitchen designs that will last for years to come.

Storage

Being organized will never go out of style. Making storage a priority, with built in organizers, inserts, and shelves is well worth the money. And future homeowners will thank you for it. Staying organized can be a challenge and there is a lot of stuff to store, from small appliances, glassware, cutting boards, plastic food containers and pot lids. Sure, there are products you can buy to help with kitchen organization, but why not have it custom-built into your kitchen cabinetry! Just a few things that will help make life easier.

Cabinets

Cabinet front trends are always changing, but one trend that stands the test of time is shaker style cabinetry. With recessed panel doors, these cabinets are simple, which allows designers to use their creativity in traditional and modern spaces.  Shaker cabinets can be stained to bring out the natural hues of the wood. In modern kitchens, you will see shaker cabinets painted white or grey to give it a more contemporary look.

Paint Color

Neutral wall colors make decorating easy while giving off a clean and classic look. Bold wall colors are fun, but can be limiting when choosing wall decor and accessories.

Appliances

Stainless steel appliances became very popular in the early 2000s. While still a classic look, trends are moving towards antique style appliances giving off a modern yet vintage feel. You will see trends going back to all white appliances, but the difference this time around is the overall design and finishes. Brass, copper and brushed black handles and knobs give the design that timeless and classic look.

Countertops

Stone countertops are an easy choice because when you pair white marble or granite countertops, they go with any wood cabinetry or and wood floors. All stone has its own finish and provides a different character. While some stand for elegance and contemporary design, others express a rustic and antique feel.

Subway Tile

Subway tile has been around for 100 plus years. This tile will always remain a classic option because of the versatility. It’s simple, yet works with traditional and modern kitchens, respectively.
