This lovely 1950’s home had very small kitchen space with an impossible floor plan. Too many doors and windows left grossly inadequate space for appliances, cabinets, and countertops. With no obvious remedy, the owners did the best they could with the space for many years.
At first, they were highly skeptical of the new design suggestions. It seemed impossible to improve the kitchen, and change from what they were used to, might be even worse!
The new design was a radical change, and the results are amazing. By closing off a small hall doorway and opening most of the wall between the kitchen and the dining room, we created a spacious “galley”/”L” kitchen plan with an open floor plan feel. The new space is current and inviting. Plenty of cabinets and counter space, with a great work flow and room for helpers!
